I purchased this body fat measuring scale with high hopes, but the experience has been very disappointing.

When I first set it up, the scale only measured weight and completely failed to provide any body fat readings, despite following all instructions and troubleshooting steps. After about a week, the body fat feature suddenly started working — but the readings were highly inconsistent. Both the weight and body fat measurements would change dramatically within seconds or minutes of stepping back on the scale. This level of inaccuracy makes the device essentially unusable for its main purpose: tracking body fat reliably.

The return process was also a major hassle. Even though I paid extra for their “Worry-Free Shipping,” getting approval took multiple back-and-forth emails, and I’m still waiting on the refund after sending the requested photos and evidence.

Overall, the inconsistency (it “works” sometimes and fails other times) leaves me with no confidence in the product’s quality or long-term reliability. If you need accurate and consistent body composition measurements, I would not recommend this scale. Save your money and look for a more dependable option.

I purchased the Morfscan smart scale from RENPHO expecting reasonably accurate body composition data. To validate it, I scheduled a DEXA scan the very next day. DEXA is considered one of the most reliable methods for measuring body fat, muscle mass, and visceral fat.

The results were not just slightly off, they were completely inconsistent.

For example:

- Muscle mass

Scale: 87.9 lbs

DEXA: 101.5 lbs

~14 lb difference

- Body fat %

Scale: 44.8%

DEXA: 39.8%

~ significantly overstated

- Fat mass

Scale: 76.7 lbs

DEXA: 70.8 lbs

- Visceral fat

Scale: “15” (high/danger range)

DEXA: 0.78 lbs (extremely low)

~ This is not a small error, this is completely wrong.

At that point, it’s clear this scale is not actually measuring body composition, it’s estimating based on assumptions.

This raises a bigger issue: the algorithm behind this scale does not appear to account for diverse body types. I have a smaller waist with wider hips and glutes, and the readings suggest the device may be misinterpreting fat distribution entirely. If the technology cannot accurately assess bodies outside a narrow range, that should be clearly disclosed.

Additionally, my review was hidden on the Shop app. Customer support never responded to my emails.
